L-lactate menthol, a derivative of menthol, is synthesized via the esterification reaction between menthol and lactic acid. It emits a faint odor, subtly reminiscent of tobacco and chamomile, while being nearly tasteless—boasting a long-lasting, gentle cooling effect. As a white crystalline substance, it delivers a comfortable physiological cooling sensation to both skin and mucous membranes, making it a standout choice for cool-feel products.

Unlike traditional menthol, it avoids irritation (a commonpain point of menthol-based formulas) and breaks the limitation of "cool products being confined to mint flavor"; its tasteless property allows seamless integration with various flavor systems (such as fruit, floral, or herbal notes), adapting to diverse market demands from food, cosmetics to oral care. Additionally, its mild cooling mechanism ensures suitability for sensitive skin and mucosa, expanding its application scope across high-end skincare, children’s snacks, and low-irritation oral products.
